Getting your work on Big Stock Photo
After you've registered for an account, you are required to read through a photographer tutorial and take a quiz to test your knowledge on the basics of stock photography (quality issues, releases, copyright, etc). The quiz is fairly straightforward and anyone with a basic knowledge will have no problem.

Image Requirements - Content

  • No copyrighted items in your photos (logos, trademarks, etc.).
  • Model Releases are required, even for crowd shots, for all recognizable faces.
  • Partial nudity only. No fully exposed buttocks, breasts, nipples, or genitals.

Image Requirements - Quality

  • Interesting subjects with broad appeal.
  • Good strong color, not washed out or lacking contrast.
  • Correct light levels.
  • Creativity in choice and treatment of subjects.
  • No 'snapshots'. Images should be properly planned, composed, and lit.

Image Specifications

  • Types: photos, illustrations
  • File size: minimum 800px wide, 72dpi (for web images). 1200px or higher at 300dpi is preferred. 10mb or less.
  • File type: JPG only for photos. PSD, PNG, PDF for artwork. EPS, AI for vector.
