Dreamstime Overview
Dreamstime is a top microstock company that has been around, in it's current form, since 2004. Photographers earn a flat rate of 50% to 60% for each photo sold.
Getting accepted at Dreamstime
Any photographer can become a member at Dreamstime, but only high quality photos are selected. To become a member, you are required to sign up and upload a few sample images. If you are approved you can submit more images.
Image Requirements - Content
- All photos must be your own personal work (must be copyright holder)
- Photos contain no copyrighted materials (logos, characters, certain buildings, sculptures, cars, etc.).
- Model Releases are required.
- Nudes are permitted as long as they are non-explicit.
- No depiction of drug use, racism, etc. is allowed.
Image Requirements - Quality
- Low noise / grain.
- Proper exposure with preserved details in highlighted and shadow areas.
- Proper lighting setup (contrast), minimal hard shadows.
- Correct white balance.
- Subject in focus.
- Good composition and photo layout.
Image Specifications
- Types: photos, illustrations.
- File size: 3 megapixels or higher, maximum size 1 gigabyte.
- File type: JPG, saved at highest quality. AI, CDR, EPS for vectors.
- EXIF Data: Required, should contain title, description, and keywords.

Number of Submissions
New users are limited to 200 submissions. The number of photographs you can upload is based on your acceptance ratio. The higher your percentage of approved photos, the more photos you are able to submit.
Approval Process
All photos must pass review before they are added to the Dreamstime website.
